We service our customers using the concept of  “Hot Spares”. Our maintenance strategy consists of maintaining VAX and Alpha systems in our office which are configured similar to those on our customer sites.
This serves multiple of purposes:

• People familiar with the VAX and Alpha world realize that HP has discontinued support for all but the newest Alpha systems.  This means “best effort “ technical support, (which mostly off shore), and  no spares.  By maintaining “Hot Spares” we take proactive position of locating hard to find spares before they are actually needed.
• All of our spares are tested which guarantees that they are fully functional without reliance on outside vendors.
• In the event of a total disaster we have a functioning system to replace the customer’s machine without a time consuming search for suitable replacement.
• Our technicians are able to test system changes or upgrades on a functional system prior to making live changes in the client’s production environment.
• Our technicians are able to maintain their proficiency.
• The “bottom line” is that this process allows us to perform timely repairs bringing our client’s back online with a minimum amount of down time. As the majority of our clients are in the manufacturing sector this is extremely important.
